The Oak Park Business Association

An Important component of the Oak Park Business Association success is the external advocacy in behalf of property owners. Attending public/government meetings, speaking to the community and community leaders is a vital part of the strength and growth of the economic redevelopment of the Oak Park Business Corridor.

The OPBA has maintained visibility through attendance at meetings, participation in events, involvement with community organizations, and engaging property owners as much as possible as well as through the publication of the OPBA programs and projects. Several avenues have been used to accomplish this including publications, website, media, and public meetings.

Publications- The OPBA Staff developed a newsletter that is sent out monthly to all business, property owners and residents in the PBID, as well as to partnering organization associated with OPBA. The  newsletter has several components: A cover page providing information that is directed towards business owners, business tips, featured business, and a calendar with important meeting dates. The publication is in collaboration with the Stockton Blvd Partnership, a neighboring PBID. Click here to view the newsletter.

Website Development - The development of the website is on going. This is a place were the community at large are able to see what projects  the association is working on or completed,  view our current Board of
Directors, contact us, view the newsletter and important meeting dates.

Community Meetings- Staff currently attends public, government and community meetings during each month to gather information and listen to the community goals, desires, and needs. Constant daily contact is made through emails and phone calls. This allows the OPBA to maintain relevancy to the area.

Board Meetings- All OPBA Board Meetings are held on a quarterly  basis and are open to the public; meeting times are posted on the website, and in the marque at the Stockton Blvd Resource Center. The OPBA Executive Committee meets monthly on the months between the Full Board meeting and are open to the public as well. All meetings are held at the Stockton Blvd Resource Center at 5625 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, Ca 95824.

Oak Park Business Association's "Painters Paradise" - Board Members and Staff had there first Annual Painters Paradise Event. This event was and is designed to economically stimulate our business corridor while providing community members with an opportunity to enjoy artist at work as well as their subject matter. In addition we had community participation with local entertainment and local dignitaries. We hope that the event will continue to grow year to year. We learned many things from our first Annual and will take the knowledge into the future when planning Painters Paradise 2011. Overall, the event was successful and enjoyable for all who attended. We want to thank all who participated in the event.
